Iván Martos - Injury to the ACL of the right knee sustained in the match against Real Zaragoza on the 8th March 2022. 

• Juanjo Nieto - Injury to the ACL of the left knee sustained in the match against Málaga in February 2022. 
• Álex Centelles - Ligamentous sprain of the ankle
• Marko Milovanović - Muscular overload

• Julen Agirrezabala - Fracture of the third metacarpal bone in his right hand sustained in training on the 26th July 2022.  Surgery followed and he is now working hard in rehabilitation.

• Stefan Savić - Hamstring muscle injury sustained during the match with Villarreal on the 21st of August 2022.
• José María Giménez - Severe bruising of the back muscles 

• Héctor Bellarín – Soleus muscle injury of the calf
• Jules Koundé - Biceps femoris muscle injury of the hamstring group.  It's not been a good start for Jules at  Barça .  After undergoing sportsman’s hernia surgery in June 2022 while with former club Sevilla, he went straight into rehab at Barça following the operation. He recovered enough to return to training and become involved in the league game against Real Valladolid at the end of August. This latest injury sustained with the French national team shows how much he has struggled with his match fitness due to missing most of Barça's pre-season.
• Ronald Araujo - Avulsion fracture of the adductor longus tendon in the right hip and thigh. The injury was sustained while playing for Uruguay in the match against Iran in late September.
• Frenkie de Jong - Substituted against Poland on the 22nd of September with muscular overload. The Netherlands medical team were assessing his fitness prior to his early return to Barça for treatment.
• Memphis Depay - Substituted against Poland on the 22nd of September due to a hamstring muscle injury. The Netherlands medical team assessed his fitness prior to his early return to Barça for treatment.
• Ousmane Dembélé - Calf muscle overload caused him to miss France's training session and there are queries over his current fitness.
• Sergi Roberto - Injury to the Achilles tendon, which folllows his recovery from an adductor muscle injury of the hip and thigh. Sergi missed the game with Elche in mid-September as a result of this fresh injury.

• Jon Ander Garrido - Currently working hard in rehab following a knee injury sustained in the friendly against Barbate on the 15th of July 2022. Jon twisted his knee in the 14th minute of the game and was immediately replaced. After having surgery on a long-term Achilles tendinopathy this time last year, Jon spent most of last season on loan at Mirandés but returned and took part in Cádiz's pre-season. 

• Gonzalo Paciencia - Biceps femoris muscle injury of the right hamstring group sustained in training at the end of August. He missed the Girona match a few days later and is likely to be out for roughly six weeks. Gonzalo also had successful surgery to set two fractured metacarpal bones in his right hand as a result of an earlier training accident. The hamstring injury allowed him the time to have the operation without missing any more training days

• Pastore - Soleus muscle injury of the calf
• Fidel Chaves – Hamstring muscle injury of the thigh, sustained against Real Betis on the 15th of August 2022.
• Pedro Bigas - Muscular injury to the thigh
• Omar Mascarell - Injury to the Achilles tendon   
• Pol Lirola - Muscular overload 
• Diego González - Quadriceps muscle injury to the thigh. 

• Adrià Pedrosa –  Currentlyin rehab after pubalgia surgery which had prevented him from fully participating in pre-season training. The operation is expected to keep him out of action for around eight weeks in total so he is not far away from making a return to training. 
• José Carlos Lazo - Hamstring muscle injury of the thigh  
• Óscar Gil  - Muscular injury sustained in training before the game against Real Sociedad in mid-September. Óscar did not travel with the squad and stayed behind for treatment instead.
• Rubén Sánchez Sáez - Hamstring muscle injury of the thigh sustained against Sevilla 
• Keidi Bare - Muscle injury sustained in the match against Athletic Club.

• Djené Dakonam - Injury to the knee

• Borja García – Injury to the posterior cruciate ligament of the left knee sustained in the second leg of the promotion semi-final against Eibar in June 2022.
• Ibrahima Kebé  – Currently unable to train due to a knee meniscus injury sustained last season. Ibrahima was operated on in June 2022 by Dr Ramón Cugat in Barça, where surgery to the left knee was carried out. He is currently working hard at regaining his full fitness, having started his rehabilitation immediately after the operation and has worked throughout the close season with Girona’s medical and fitness team.
• David López -  Injury to the Achilles tendon  
• Reinier - Biceps femoris muscle injury of the hamstring group
• Iván Martín – Fracture of the right fibula sustained in the second leg of the promotion final against Tenerife in June 2002.
• Oscar Ureña - Ligamentous sprain of the ankle
• Ramón Terrats - Soleus muscle injury of the right calf    - detail
• Yangel Herrera - Biceps femoris muscle injury of the hamstring group
• Cristhian Stuani - Currently under investigation for a  benign cardiac arrhythmia.  

• Aimar Oroz - Ligamentous sprain of the ankle.

• Andrés Martín - Currently unavailable due to a dislocated shoulder and working hard in rehabilitation.
• Raúl de Tomás aka RDT -  injury to an adductor muscle of the hip and thigh and did not play in any of Espanyol’s opening two league games.  Having moved back to Vallecas, RDT is continuing his rehab with the Rayo Vallecano medical staff.
• Pep Chavarría - Severe bruising of the lower  back
• Salvi Sánchez - Injury to the calf muscle

• Lucas Vázquez -  Injury to the gracilis muscle of the right thigh sustained (x) and currently having treatment for a muscular strain. Although not as commonly injured as the quads and hamstrings, gracilis muscle injuries happen in football due to the quick changes of direction and the involvement of that muscle with the hamstrings.
• Luka Modrić - Injury to the hip
• Karim Benzema - Injury to the the tendinous aspect of the semitendinosis muscle of the right hamstring group, and also to the quadriceps muscle of the right thigh.  Both injuries were sustained against Celtic in the Champions League match on the 6th September 2022. The hamstring injury was originally reported as a knee injury as that is what Karim apppeared to be holding at the time he called for assistance, but on returning to Madrid subsequent MRI scans showed an injury to the semitendinosis muscle instead. There is a strong correlation between the knee and injuries to the semitendinosis muscle. The reason for this is that the tendon of the semitendinosus muscle passes across the back of the knee and inserts on the head of the tibia, or shin bone. As one of the hamstring muscles that bend the knee, the tendinous part of the muscle lies very close to the joint line of the knee and this is the area where meniscus cartilage tears occur. You could see Karim at the time shaking his knee to see if it was going to lock or give way and then very carefully taking his weight through it before coming off. Real Madrid have investigated Karim's injury thoroughly and will monitor his recovery, as a semitendinosis muscle injury is often a differential diagnosis for knee pain and vice versa. 
• David Alaba - Substituted against France while playing for Austria on the 22nd of September due to muscular overload.

•  Dominik Greif – Injury to the right ankle sustained on the first day of pre-season training on the 14th of July 2022 and still currently unavailable. Dominik is working hard in rehabilitation and a return to full training is now in sight.
• Kadawere - Injury to the quadriceps muscle of the thigh.
• Matija Nastasić  - injured in the warm-up before the game with  Almería in mid-September.
• Rodrigo Battaglia - Muscular overload
• Amath Ndiaye – Currently unavailable due to an infection of the little toe of the right foot, which originally affected him last season while at Tenerife. Amath is currently on strong anti-biotics for the infection. The club and Amath are currently looking at all treatment possibilities and I understand that one potential option being considered as a solution is amputation of the toe. The medical staff at the club stress that this would not necessarily prevent Amath from making a return to play if surgery goes ahead and that he should return to full fitness following the appropriate rehabilitation.

• Luis Pérez - Currently out of action with Osteitis pubis, which is a painful condition that affects the bony origin of the adductor muscles of the hip and thigh on the pubic bone. The diagnosis often overlaps with pubalgia which tends to refer to the tendinous aspect of the adductor insertion as opposed to the bone.
• Sergio Asenjo - Fracture of the middle finger of the right hand.
• Anuar Tuhami - Currently awaiting ACL surgery to the right knee following an injury sustained in the friendly with Osasuna in Burgos on the 23rd of September 2022. The knee is swollen therefore surgery is expected to take place in around a week's time once this susides.
• Lucas Olaza - Muscular overload.
• Roque Mesa - Cervicalgia, which basically means means neck pain.  This can either be a muscular strain from heading or contact, or stiff and painful vertebral joints.

• Robin Le Normand - Injury to the metatarsal bone of the foot
• Ander Martín - Currently in rehabiltation  following meniscal surgery to the knee
• Umar Sadiq - Currently in rehabilitation following ACL surgery to the knee
• Carlos Fernandez – Injury to the biceps femoris muscle of the left hamstring group sustained in training on the 13th of August 2022.
• Mikel Oyarzabel – ACL rupture of the left knee sustained in training on March 17th 2022 and subsequently surgically repaired.
• Ander Barrenetxea - Stretchered off against Alavés on the 2nd  of January with a severe injury to the tendinous aspect of one of the left hamstring muscles. Ander is still working at his rehabilitation under the guidance of the Real Sociedad medical team.    
• Martín Merquelanz  - Left knee injury sustained  while on loan at Rayo Vallecano and the injury went to surgery in September 2021, performed by Dr Mikel Sánchez in Vitoria. Martin returned to training at Rayo in towards the end of the season but things weren’t right and he underwent a second knee operation in 10th May 2022 to address damage to the articular cartilage of the knee. This operation was at the Clinic Cemtro in Madrid and was performed by Dr Pedro Guillén. The operation consisted of an autologous chondrocyte implant which is designed to regenerate and strengthen the existing cartilage. Martin has had knee problems in the past and has previously undergpne ACL surgery on both knees in the past. He is now working at his rehabilitation following the cartilage implant but there is normally a long recovery process associated with this procedure.
• Mohamed Ali Cho - Injury to the hamstring muscles of the thigh sustained with France under-21 team in training and returned immediately to San Sebastian.

• Marcāo – Microtear in the myotendinous junction of the hamstring muscle in the left thigh.
• Jesús Corona aka ‘Tecatito’ – Fracture of the fibula and torn ankle ankle ligaments sustained in training on the match 17th of August 2022 and operated on that same day. The fibula bone was pinned and plated, and the ankle ligaments surgically repaired. He is expected to be out of action for around five months.
• Marcos Acuña – Muscular overload
• Fernando – Muscular overload

• Jaume Doménech - Currently in rehabilitation following ACL surgery to the knee
• Yunus Musah - Muscular overload.
• Hugo Duro - Now back in light training after a direct blow to the right ankle in the game with Athletic Club earlier in the season, resulting in an impingement injury to the front of the ankle joint. 

• Pepe Reina - Hip contusion
• Juan Foyth - Muscular contusion
• Gerard Moreno - Hamstring muscle injury of the thigh
• Manu Trigueros – Fracture of the first toe of the right foot sustained in the friendly against Borussia Dortmund on the 22nd ofJuly 2022. 
• Alberto Moreno - Ligamentous injury to the right  sustained in the game against Osasuna in Pamplona on March 5th 2022. Surgery followed, and Alberto is now well on the road to recovery. This time last year Alberto underwent surgery on his left knee for a similar injury.
